Shante arrived at Focus 360 prepared and determined. She had a strong résumé, a polished Master Application, and years of experience. Yet despite her readiness, employment opportunities remained just out of reach.
Losing her previous job had taken an emotional toll. Still, Shante showed up each day committed to learning new strategies and continuing her search.
Although she completed Focus 360 without securing employment, she refused to see that as the end of her journey.
Two weeks later, Shante enrolled in Refocus Job Search, ready to approach the process from a new perspective. The program introduced structured tools that helped her sharpen her strategy. The Job Search Blueprint helped clarify what she wanted in a career, while the Job Search Trackers encouraged her to apply consistently to positions aligned with her goals.
With each step, her self-assurance returned.
A promising opportunity soon appeared when Ms. Jackie Seals (CDPS – Downey) shared a job lead for a Case Manager position with the Weingart Center. She also conducted a mock interview to help Shante prepare.
This time, preparation and opportunity aligned.
Shante was hired as a full-time Case Manager earning $23 per hour with benefits, allowing her to move forward with pride.
Her experience reflects the significance of Refocus. Sometimes success requires stepping back, refining the strategy, and approaching the search with fresh direction.
