When Nichole’s temporary assignment with the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services ended, she faced an uncertain transition. Rather than allowing that moment to discourage her, she entered Focus 360 with a clear purpose.
From Orientation Day forward, Nichole treated the program like a full-time job.
She attended every session, refined her résumé, practiced interview responses with her facilitator, and set daily application goals. Even during breaks, she continued searching for employment opportunities. Her consistency quickly stood out.

Nichole understood something important. Success rarely happens by chance. Preparation creates the conditions for opportunity.
Even when immediate results did not appear, she remained steady and focused. The structure of the program helped her sharpen her job search strategy while also rebuilding her confidence.
Within two weeks, Nichole secured a part-time position as a Program Leader with Woodcraft Rangers, supporting youth in an after-school program.
For many, that milestone might have felt like the finish line. Nichole saw it differently.
She continues applying the same discipline she practiced in Focus 360. She intentionally tracks applications and networks, and approaches each workday prepared and focused. Her current role serves as a stepping stone toward her long-term goal of working permanently in the public or government sector.
Nichole’s journey demonstrates how consistency often creates opportunities that might otherwise appear out of reach.
“Success usually comes to those who are too busy to be looking for it.” – Unknown.
